I don’t know if it’s the nostalgia like you mentioned, but sugar cane farms are for sure my favorite farm to make. Automatic or manual, I enjoy it equally.

hmm, sugarcane blocks water…kelp creates water. Water spawns fish, drowned, and squid (all as part of the river biome). Does sugarcane also waterlog (I honestly don’t know that one)? If so, you could create a sushi farm that serves sushi on copper plates.
